The songs key notes

I was in a cruise to Bahamas and I sang some Queen songs in Karaoke. Boy did I have fun. But the songs were in a much lower key than the one Freddie sings. I sing in Freddie's key. Is there a place where I can find that information? Thanks.

Freddie always sang in the key of B-Flat. He refused all other keys. There's a famous story about a song Roger wrote for The Works (which was in C-minor). Freddie became very angry at Roger and he said he was wasting his time. He took his bottle of wodka and went to his house in Munich.

Brian had to ask Mack for 10 Pfennig to use the payphone in order to call Freddie and calm him down

What you say is partly true: B Rhap is in Bb, but Freddie didn't always sing in Bb - many Queen songs (particularly Brian's) were written in more 'guitar-friendly' keys; E A D. I seem to recall that Freddie also wrote in Eb - both Bb and Eb lend themselves to piano performance. Brian has commented that it's really peculiar for a guitarist to play in these keys and, as such, his guitar solos on Freddie's songs had to be inventive!

I think somebody didn't get the joke.

*every* key lends itself to piano performance. That's the main beauty of piano...and the reason we invented capo's [capo tasto] for guitar. F, Bb and Eb are keys that lend themselves well to orchestration using genuine instruments (meaning: not a synthesizer/sampler) from the classical orchestra.
