Thinking a bit more about this, after the S&D guitar solo, Freddie comes in with the same clothes as in the beggining of the song! That´s odd.

Considering that the first part is really from the Rainbow Show, something is wrong here.

I can´t see any other lyric being sung that way besides "Keep Yourself Alive, Keep Yourself Alive!" in that show. There might be other ones, like Liar, but then the setlist we have had to be in the wrong order for that to be true.

So considering this, and that the first part shows Freddie with some kind of yellow crap over his pants, leave me with 3 plausible choices:

1) This is not the Rainbow show
2) The setlist is wrong, way too wrong for me to believe in it! Again, makes me believe this is not Rainbow show.
3) The concert is longer than the version we have and includes more songs. This doesn´t explain the clothing thingy anyway.
4) Freddie changed clothes between S&D and KYA and appeared with that yellow thing that isn´t there on any photo or MTR´n´R video [Can´t believe in this one]
5) That footage is from Father to Son and Freddie changed to white later, and back to black for MTR´n´R. [ Can´t believe in this one ]

So after seing the video many times again and hearing pieces and bits from the Rainbow show, my opinion is: the first part is not from the Rainbow show.

EDIT: If Granada TV made the filmings, it would make sense that it had it´s own footage, so there could be a chance (and a good one) that this is their own footage and not related to the Queen archives or even BBC at all.[/QUOTE]

2)What do you mean with "setlist is wrong" ? Do you mean that the "tracklist of all bootlegs is wrong" ? Because that's a pretty common thing. Also check above the setlist provided by John
3) Of course it is ! There are absolutely no doubts about it
4) We KNOW that Freddie HAD this dress on the March show ! It's captured on many photos !
5) Believe me or not but I was also thinking this is from Father To Son, but the clip is simply too short. Also the clothes changes woudn't surprise me.

And now a simple logic - were Queen in 1973 famous enough to bring a camera crew to one of their concerts to shoot a couple of seconds / minutes ?
I think it's logical to assume that the bits are from concert which we know where filmed.
My oppinion - first part Rainbow, the second part can be ANYTHING.
But of course I wouldn't bet my money on it :-)

I didn´t know John S. Stuart setlist. It is AMAZING! I suspected there were songs missing, but maybe 2 or 3, not that load of songs! That setlist can give you 30 more minutes of music!

I made my assumptions in the way that there were suspitions about the setlist being confused/short, but it could also be the complete setlist. I also didn´t imagine that setlist because this is the only recording of Queen II tour without supporting Mott The Hopple.


Isn´t there a yellow thing in Freddie´s dress in the first part of the video that isn´t present on any Rainbow march photo/video?


I must say, if that setlist is correct, and QP has the full recording, that would be an AMAZING release.

When I said Hangman wasn´t performed that night, I said it because I didn´t even imagine it was possible. Actually, I still believed that what we have could be the full setlist, even if confused/messed up.

As far as I know, this setlist was taken from Greg Brooks' first book... and we all know how reliable that is...

Until a genuine recording turns up, we're not going to know what the setlist of this tour was... no matter what anyone says.

Rainbow, New Orleans and Portland?

Because if you want to think about a setlist based on New Orleans and Portland, you pretty much get a supporting act setlist, not like the Rainbow show... it wasn´t supporting Mott The Hopple right? There were apparently two encores.


There might be a big chance that the Rainbow tape that leaked might be a mixed tape that was intended to be released as a live album. The lenght of it fits that theory and I doubt that as a standalone act Queen would present such a short setlist!

I can believe that setlist, even if the source is Greg Brooks. However, I must say MTR´n`R must have been played before the Rock´n´Roll medley and the medley order must be confused.


What is the setlist you have Zebonka? Since you say you have it, can you share that information with us?

I've been told that Mick Rock also used to make films at gigs, my idea is that the 1973/74 one comes from his collection, but no proofs, just guessin'
