Roy is truly a legend. Listened to him the other day and was really taken. Fabulous voice filled with feelings and many of those songs are really little stories in themselves.

Surprising how no one seems to want John Bonham back, to see the Led live again. :O
John Entwistle & Keith Moon - the friendliest people I have ever come across. And in many ways, count as one person because of the unique backing they provided.
Janis Joplin - because of her awesome voice and latent sexuality.
Jimi Hendrix - don't need to expand on that.

If you want an example of strictly commercial music that has no purpose except for avoiding any musical tension whatsoever, ABBA is it.
