So... To get the single in the charts, all we have to do is buy it. What a novel concept.

It's a shame nobody thought of that with the previous releases. :P

Thought the above represented good value considering finding an actual HMV or other 'real' record shop is becoming increasingly impossible to find in some places these days. Would also make a change considering so many seem content with ripped off online copies.
It is a good deal for the 7" and CD together.

Just ordered the two together myself but finding something to play the 7" on could be a bit of a challenge :-)

A record player is a good idea. ;-)

Considered cutting a few inches off to get it in my CD player but this may devalue any resale price at a later date. Can you still buy new record players?

Tero:

I, for one, appreciate good sarcasm. And you have done so wonderfully here. I hope you didn't take mine personally.

They never stopped making them.

The one valuable contribution that the Rap Industry has given us. Now what they play on them is another story. But I do believe that the 12" Single format has not really suffered in the sales department since the advent of CD5. The 12" Maxi CD Single, however, never latched on.

It's actually a pretty standard price.
Even the UK Amazon is selling singles for under £2, and all the Manic Street Preachers bundles I've bought (2 cds and a 7" or 2 cds and a dvd + a special bonus like postcards, lyric posters or autographed single covers) from Recordstore.co.uk are regularily sold for under £5.

But sure it's good money compared to buying the import discs from your corner store. ;)

It's not so much rap, really. Most underground music kept using vinyl, and since most new currents in music were underground before they became new currents in music, up comes the record player. They now make them with USB output, which is absolute heaven, if you ask me.
