Gay iconography? The T-shirt was maybe a statement by Freddie .It says Mineshaft, one of Freddies favourite clubs. Click below for information on the mineshaft private members club of the late 70's in New York.

I thought it might say something like "ganesh"(based on the "ENESH" that is visible).
Another possibility was a biker theme, circa The Game era.
But "Mineshaft" is clearly the right answer.
