According to Billboard;
"Queen + Paul Rodgers have set an Oct. 28 U.S. release date for "The Cosmos Rocks," the band's first new album since 1995 and its first since Rodgers stepped in for the late Freddie Mercury in 2004.
The group has already debuted several of the new songs at shows and on TV, including first single "C-lebrity," which features vocals from Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins, and "Say It's Not True," written in honor of Nelson Mandela's 46664 AIDS initiative.
The 14-track "The Cosmos Rocks" will also feature "Cosmos Rockin'," "Time To Shine," "Still Burnin'," "Small," "Warboys," "We Believe," "Call Me," "Voodoo," "Some Things That Glitter," "Through the Night" and "Surf's Up ... School's Out!"
"I think it touches a lot of emotions," Rodgers told Billboard.com recently of the album. "Every song is different from every other song, but I do think there is a very powerful emotional content in every song. I'm a great believer in variety in music, and so are the other guys."
After a pitch-modulated voice exclaims, "What planet is this?" opener "Cosmos Rockin'" blasts in with a handclap-bolstered beat and a peppy blues riff from guitarist Brian May. "Time To Shine" is an atmospheric rocker with an inspirational vocal ("Raise up your mind / It's time to shine"), while "Still Burning" is a swaggering rocker that nods to Rogers' tenure in Bad Company and Free.
Elsewhere, "Small" and "We Believe" are acoustic-leaning power ballads, "Call Me" conjures the multi-tracked operatic singing that was Queen's Mercury-era trademark and the stomping "Surf's Up ... School's Out!" closes the proceedings on an arena-rocking note.
The group begins a world tour Sept. 15 in Moscow, and will touch down in North America in early 2009."
Of course I'll wait until an official confirmation is announced before getting too happy about it. Hopefully this time around the tour will be properly promoted in the States.

"Promotion" down here basically means obnoxious television commercials from the promoter. I think they got enough of a turnout last time they came to the States.
I might go to a couple of shows, Chicago or Detroit, lets see if they do these city's again.
I'm reserving my excitement for an official announcement, as well. But, I'm sure they will be back. Hopefully, I will be able to do another Queen (sorry..QPR) road trip like last time. :-)

Hopefully the "heartland" of the States between Minnesota to the NE and Arizona to the SW (a 2500 km distance) will be toured this time.

Likewise. Although last time around, I only went to the Vancouver show, this time I am planning to go to as many, if not all the Canadian shows they announce for next year (which hopefully should be more than TWO! :P )
I hope travel costs will be reasonable then. Hopefully I'll be able to bus it all the way, provided they don't make it impossible for me to reach a gig after another with regards to the travel time between cities. But, if I have to make some flights along the way, I'll do that :P

I agree that it will be shorter than the last time. I would add Boston, Milwaukee, Washington DC, and a Texas date to that. They have always heavily toured the Midwest-and East. Canada- Vancouver and Toronto

I really, really, really hope they come to the States. I wanted to go see them in England but sadly things didn't work out financially for it. :( I'm hopeful but that probably means my hopes are just going to get crushed. Maybe not though.
