The New Album

I think that people are missing my original point. I think that We Believe and Call Me would have been ideal songs for Freds voice. I too am grateful for this new enitity which is QPR and having not seen the original line up live, the closest i've got is Brian at Whitley Bay Ice rink and Newcastle City Hall and Roger at the Riverside, i'm so happy that i, and thousands of others can see and hear the music live again

p.s My girlfriend thinks Call Me sounds like the Woolpackers Hill Billy Rock (Hill Billy Roll) What does she know, she likes ABBA

Ah, but the two of them did NOT start out as Queen in the late 60's. They started out as Smile, and this is clearly not called Smile is it?

Or if you want to go further than that, isn't it ironic that they started out playing all by themselves, and Brian kicks the bucket Roger will undoubtably continue on as Queen... That is how the band started you know!

There's no decency in using the "+Paul Rodgers" label. It's a practical decision the two of them ha have made after performing as "Queen" with a plethora of disposable artists in the past decade.

The "+Paul Rodgers" monicker is NOT a problem, as it's extremely descriptive. Just like Queen & David Bowie was the perfect name for 1981.

What IS the problem is half of the band using the full band's name, and like you say, making a commercial profit out of it. Artistically they are gaining NOTHING from it.

Maybe they should call themselves "Que?" :-)

I also thought about it.
After about 6-7 times of hearing through the album I can't really find one single typical Freddie-song...

There are Queen like songs on the album, a lot could be classed as solo material as has already been discussed on here. I just don't think Pauls voice will ever sound right while he's under the 'Queen' name

Well put, Brian's wig.  Well put.  I'm not sure I want to encourage "unbelievers" to flock to the concerts this year and next, because I'd rather have "converted" seated next to me singing/shouting/screaming along with Call Me, Love Of My Life, and Small at the shows (should they do them), but the spirit of your message is right on.

I think Freddie could have sung all of the songs but in a slightly different way, adding his spice. C-lebrity definitely.
