... to The Cosmos Rocks, and I won't be an exception.
I fucking love it.
And just I had to use the swear word there to convey exactly how much I fucking love it. :)
And if it's not your cup of tea, I respect that. There's no accounting for taste an' all.
But guess what? I'm not letting your whining spoil my fun. I'm playing Warboys at full blast right now and having a hell of a time.
Music is not religion. Just because I love Freddie's work, doesn't mean I mustn't like Paul's.
And I'm confident the concert will be amazing.

I dont remember them ever saying they were co-writing; its definately a return to the old approach of bringing whatever each person has to the table and then collaborating to make it work for everyone.
So in that respect, they all had a hand in all the songs - look at how Say Its Not True has changed, and how much bigger Warboys is than from what I remember of it when Paul was playing it!

agree (Music is not religion. Just because I love Freddie's work, doesn't mean I mustn't like Paul's).like them both so i am happy.
Well, I have held off posting for a day or two. I've had it on replay for a few hours.
What can I say? It's a grower. There are some truly awful moments. There are some truly fabulous moments.
There is no doubting Paul's capacity as a lead vocalist. And for sure, the instrumental power of Brian and Roger is still there and is still superb.
This won't go down in the "okcomputer list of fab Queen moments", but it more than suffices. I think the Observer review of 1 star was very unfair. I think that it should be "Paul and Brian and Roger" instead of Q+PR, but there you have it - the marketing department has spoken and I can live with it.
I have read with some interest the histrionics on this site, of people who cannot separate pre-1991 Queen with this present incarnation. I really think those people need to get a life.
I do recall a much-missed frontman saying something like "it's only a bloody record". And that's all it is. It's no Sergeant Pepper, but it IS enormously fun in places, and will do fine and dandy, thank you very much.
Cheers.

I agree, why are so many people getting their knickers in a twist over a "bloody record"? And might I say a feckin' good one at that. I can't decide my favourute track. At first I didnt like Through The Night but now even thats grown on me which is more than I can say for tracks like You don't fool me, pain is so close to pleasure and keep passing the open windows, I could go on. Most Queen albums have had at least one stinker on them but I'm not so sure that this one has. Yes some tracks are better than others but I don't think any are "Pish Poor" This is the best new record I've bought in quite a while, years even!!

woa cwazy i wasn't disin the album or the song Warboys i just didnt know that it was a PR song until earlier today when i was playing his live in glasgow album.... and i deff do think that together with Bri n Rog it sounds 100% better and like i said i love Surfs up i just think it could've been called 'follow that Dream' and i'm not comparing it to any old Queen stuf that would be pointless

Paul Rodger's isn't real blues, and that's a FACT.

I really enjoy the album. It's very fun! There are some great rockers on it and some solid ballads... what more could you ask for? As I said on QOL, I really don't think a new album with Freddie (if he were alive) would be too drastically different.
