Then we should re-initiate the discussion over what is "official" material that shouldn't be shared.

a) audience recordings of officially-released shows (partial or in full)
b) radio/soundboard recordings of officially-released shows that are mixed differently or lack overdubs (partial or in full)
c) official releases that were available in limited quantities and are otherwise difficult (or even impossible) to locate

Any or all of the above?
C is what really pisses me off, especially when it concerns b-sides, remixes and edits NOT available in any form worldwide at the moment, that elitists prefer to force NOT be shared losslessly anyways.

Example of what (likely) is still available on CD somewhere worldwide:

Teo Torriatte (High-Def Remix) - available on Jewels in Japan (still in print?)

Example of what is NOT available at present time anywhere (as in, OUT OF PRINT):

Stealin' (b-side to 'Breakthru', also once available on the US 'Scandal' 4-track promo CD)

A and B, I can live with, however much it WOULD be nice to have alternate (un-overdubbed RAW) sources
[QUOTENAME]Sir GH wrote: [/QUOTENAME]Indeed... that's my view as well.

No doubt, the fan who downloads the better version (should it exist) will almost always buy the official release anyway. So I personally don't see any problem with it.
Agreed.

Only certain hardcore downloaders will go the extra mile to obtain those sources anyways. The average joe won't likely care or know. Let alone them figuring out how to burn FLAC to CD :-)
Upload everything, it'll be funny.
[QUOTENAME]Zebonka12 wrote: [/QUOTENAME]Upload everything, it'll be funny.
LOL.

Well actually I've got some nice recent high-def vinyl transfers of certain out-of-print titles I'd LIKE to share....but shall have to wait and see.

As it is, I refuse to support this project at present time.

a & b are interesting discussions that I can see need to be had. c, however, is where I differ. I don't care if it was only made available on 1 CD in Mongolia, NO OFFICIAL MATERIAL. That covers the French edit of Bo Rhap, the Mexican Let Me Live, Now I'm Here from Hammersmith 79, Hammer To Fall from Rio and every other obscurity.

Collect it properly or go without.
[QUOTENAME]Penetration_Guru wrote:[/QUOTENAME]Collect it properly or go without.
Easier said than done, mate :P

Even if we all had the cash, and the means to order it online, when it comes to the rarer items, it's really a matter of people actually [QUOTENAME]MAKING THEM AVAILABLE[/QUOTENAME] to buy online, whether through eBay, Amazon Marketplace, Yahoo! Japan auctions, etc.
But with places like eBay making new rules that are actually causing sellers to go elsewhere rather than be encouraged to sell more, it's getting difficult.

And no-one wants to rely on overpriced sites like EIL.com :P

But in any case, it's not fair to assume there can be hundreds of copies of every fucking rare release to be bought by all fans that have the means to do so.

Do you see The Immortals suddenly appearing in major droves on eBay?

I don't think so.

This is why I think your elitist demands will not make such a HUB work out in the long run.

Fuck, every other band has stuff more freely available, yet Queen collectors tend to be the dickiest hoarders of them all.

Rule 11 - No official material currenty available.
That's raisin enough for me to wait until the permanent one arrives.
That's not good raison there. You took a quote early on out of context and edited that to manipulate it to your attempted advantage.

But such is the way of the king....er, elitist.
what the hell are u guys bitching about??? can you guys not read well?

Rule 04 - No official material currenty available

... CURRENTLY AVAILABLE!!!

meaning, if someone wants to share something that is out of print then go nuts.

and if u think this is strict then u haven't really been near the more elite trading communities.

cmon guys, take a fucking chill pill and just come and check out the hub. you all forget that there is an open chat room there as well, if u got enough people together u could even have a trivia game going. ever think of that?

lighten up guys. SMILE!!!!!! :-D

Can I say "owned"? :-)
Apparently I didn't catch on to that part (which is odd, cos I usually do catch on quick...)

Although I'm still a bit sad about Rick Wright's passing, I'll definitely put "Smile" on the turntable :-)

What are you, housebound now?
Magazines - Record Collector, Goldmine. Traditional secondhand record stores still exist. Charity shops. Garage sales.

As for having the cash - I can't afford a Porsche. Do I whine that other people can? You can afford things other people can't.

How many copies do you want??? The fact that there aren't hundreds doesn't mean there never will be any. Because, in general, there really ARE hundreds of everything - and there's always someone selling it. Jesus, how many blue Bo Rhap's are there - and they still come up occasionally.

I'm elitist because I don't choose to upload the Staying Power extended mix for you all? No, I think that makes be a capitalist.

I would offer to browse your wants list and match it to my sales list, but unfortunately you've burnt THAT bridge - maybe offering a clue as to why you're finding it so difficult to get actual records.

No, I didn't. All I did was focus on the bit I wanted to quote. What I meant was that unless the "currently available" part was relevant to the "temporary" part, I wasn't interested.

Make sense now?

THAT'S the bit I'm "bitching" about. Sorry for not being clear about it....

You can say it, but it doesn't seem relevant.

And as we've all told you before, the LAST thing you do is catch on quick.

I think that bridge was burnt LONG ago.

I've offered on odd times to rectify and make amends for that before, but you continually shunned such requests.

And also, that said I HAVE tried to contact you a couple times when you had mentioned items for offer, but you never replied either.
Hmm... my Spider-sense tells me I've blundered into a long-standing argument about which I know nothing and should therefore keep out of.

That being said, I def think it should be ok to share A & B and I wouldn't personally mind anyone sharing C either.

Sir GH is right, obtaining an RoIO of a commerically released concert is not going to stop me buying that commercial release - "I want it all"... so to speak.
