I have to agree to all your comments. All the elements are there, but they did not match (yet). They should have done some extra rehearsals...
It took 5 songs to get the sound right. The echo reminded of the Amsterdam Arena.
Roger was great, Paul more relaxed, more enjoying himself, more confident, than the Kharkiv show, Brian worked hard, did a great solo.....
It was a good show, happy I was there, and looking forward to Rotterdam.

Sound was really bad the first few songs. And it was very loud, louder than 2005. Brian was a bit inconsistent. Paul lacks charisma, his voice is great but I feel he did get higher in 2005 in some songs.
Roger was the star of the night: I'm in love with my car was awesome, his drumming with great energy. Say it's not true was performed very well. Brian sang his bit very good too, as did Rog and Paul.
A pity the show is shorter again. I wanted the Kharkov treatment but no luck for us ,I guess!

b) Brian didn't woodshed one bit before this tour. His fingers have still not got caught up to his brain. Before they hit the states in 2006, Brian was so motivated to make a good impression he woodshedded unlike he ever did before a tour and as a result his playing on the US tour was fantastic.
No such thing here. Like most people I'm surprised at the number of bum notes he's hitting on this tour.
Don't worry though. By the time they hit the UK, he'll be getting into that zone where his fingers will play what he wants.

Totally agree.
I prefer this strategy from Paul, as I think that even pacing himself to avoid the 2005 chord blow out he´s gifted with an amazing voice.
As per Brian ... yeah I agree too, but after watching/listening to Kharkov, Berlin, etc, I think he´s doing much better in the beggining of this tour than in 2005; I remember seeing him at Brixton Academy and, in spite of the emotional feeling in the air, thinking "oh Brian, please you need more training!"

Ohh come on..Brian is really good. He makes some mistakes but not a lot..and he plays great...when I was listening to his solo in Berlin and standing so close in front of him...it was incredible. Last horizon, Bijou were just beautiful. There are no words to describe my feelings.
Roger is great on drums..and Paul sings very well. What a great voice. For me the band gives great concerts... one of the best in the world. It's just my opinion...but I know that a lot of people feel the same...QPR is wonderful.

Not correct. In ny opinion Paul was really pushing himself to hit the high notes yesterday. You could notice because his voice was suffering slightly towards the end of the show.

Sorry, do't agree either, Brian was very good yesterday. ive seen five shows in '05, and in none of them he played as good as yesterday.
Preparation could be better though, in terms of learning the new song. Stying them out during soundchecks and later on in shows is not the way to go i think, although it keeps the setlist fresh. I'm glad i witnessed the premiere of 'time to shine' yesterday!

Yes I have to add that Paul really hits high notes and doesn't avoid them. Really he works hard like the rest of the band..it's my opinion everybody has his own but...don't say lies like "Paul avoids singing the high notes or Brian plays bad". I've seen the band live and didn't notice anything like this...so for me you didn't hear clearly:) I don't know...or you just want to tell people lies...small mistakes are normal and there's no band in the world which doesn't make them..they are humans...but really... Queen and Paul Rodgers plays great. And they look like they have a lot of fun on this tour..they smile a lot and you can see they have a great time on stage..and so does the audience..and that's wonderful. Thay still have magic and they can definately rock:)

Yesterday I went with two friends of mine to the concert in Antwerpen. It was really fantastic and very loud haha ! We stood about four meters of the catwalk on the left side. We had a great view on Paul, Brian and Roger. It was really cool to see Roger doing the drumsolo so close, as I am a drummer myself. We had a great night and I think the setlist was a good mix between the old hits and the new songs from TCR.
Good points:
- I think Paul was really enjoying himself and seemed to have a good time. I think he sung very well and was really trying to get the audience into it.
- Brian played very well. Especially Bijou sounded great !
- Roger was really on fire in Antwerpen. He was playing great,singing great, but he was also really entertaining.
- It was nice to hear Time to Shine. For me this is the best song of the new album. Although there were some mistakes during the performance,it sounded very well.
- Highlights for me were Tie your mother down, the drumsolo, the show must go on and radio gaga. Although radio gaga isn't a favorite of mine, the audience participation is wonderfull!
I would really love to hear One Vision in the beginning. Surfs up...schools out is a great song to play live, it just is'n the right song to start with.
I think the audience was a bit quiet in the beginning, but after Seagull and Love of my life there was a great atmosphere!
We had a great night in Antwerpen. I also went to the Antwerpen gig in 2005 and they were great that night, but yesterday was even better.
Looking forward to see them in Rotterday in about two weeks !!!

I'm going to Glasgow and Newcastle. I'm sure too that they are just experimenting with the setlist to see which of the new songs work in live situ. I hope they keep Surfs Up included in the setlist but I would love them to go back to opening with One Vision. Maybe I'm just trying to relive 1986 I don't know but it I've always felt that One Vision is just the ultimate way to open a concert and since they have it its a shame not to use it. Anyway whatever they do I can't wait for Oct 11th. Delighted they've played Time to Shine, hopefully that one wll survive. I'm going to the Glasgow show with my wife and I can't help thinking she'll be a bit disappointed with the current setlist, no kind of magic, days of our lives etc. Shes not a big Queen fan just the greatest hits sort of thing. But I'm happy with the list although its a shame someone earlier was only joking about Its Late.
