Just interested to see the two kits close up? anyone got shots?
I am of course refering to the new kit, not his old Black Ludwig set..
I wonder if it's an endorsment deal like he used to do with Ludwig? no mention on the DW website as yet.

I don't know if it's the lights, but that kit looks green to me sometimes!
Don't you just love the fact that he's got the gold plated hardware too - I remember Tico Torres from Bon Jovi having the Pearl Masters kit with gold a few years back - very nice!
I was amused to see Roger now playing DW, when QOL stated recently that Rhythm magazine here in the UK has an interview with Roger next issue, plus a big feature on his spanking new Ludwig kit?!!?

Disappointng to see him sitting on a common-or-garden stool. £14 in Ikea if memory serves. If I was a drummer, I would sit on a replica of Captain Kirk's chair.
It is a drum stool not a garden stool. PLus seeing he's at the front of the catwalk, a full captain kirks chair replica would put a roadies back out :P
As much as im gonna miss Rog and his Ludwigs, DW are great drums. I have owned a set myself a few years back. He probably got turned onto DW because his kit in 05/06 had a DW 9000 double bass pedal. Now, he's pretty much using DW hardware and drums, with the exception of the Rototoms, which are Remo.
But that stool he is using aint cheap. If it is DW, then its $120+ but it is very comfortable.

The gig in Hyde Park in the Summer had him using green DW toms (from his origianl DW set) plus the old maple bass drum from before.
These are both new kits for this tour, maple and black

Not sure - I subscribe so don't take much notice of the month because it just lands on my dormat. the latest one has Joey Jordison of Slipknot on the cover, so I'm presuming it will be the next one, but having said that I don't recall seeing anything about Roger being mentioned in the 'coming next month' section last time out.
I do realise that Roger has played DW for a while (46664, the Al Murray Show etc..) and has recorded with tehm going back the The Happiness? album, and this is exactly my point; when he has clearly been playing a kit which is predominantly DW for a good few months I don't quite know why Rhythm are said to be running a feature on a supposed new Ludwig it! Perhaps QOL got it wrong and should have said DW in their trailer but put Ludwig by mistake. He does however still seem to stick with the Ludwig snare regardless of what kick and toms he is using.....which also reminds me of a point I've made before on these boards - WHY oh WHY has no-one made a Roger Taylor signature snare drum???? Presumably because Pearl are the main players in that market, and he has never played their drums?

The signiture snare is an interesting idea and one that I would certainly go for... trouble is Roger has used basically the same 'standard' snare for years, he never worked with Ludwig to develope one that suited him more closely (like Neil Peart) so effectively if you go into a drum shop and order a 6 1/2 inch wooden snare you have it.
WHat would be great would be a whole Roiger kit, the kit as a whole over the years is very difficult to get hold of, I have built a replica to the Lugwig Silver Sparkle kit of the 80's and I have done it one drum at a time...bloody expensive with bass drums at £800 etc.
I now have the same drums...all Ludwig however the hardware is the modern Ludwig stands as seen on the last tour. I have a DW double pedal 9000 series and the same Zildjian cymbal set up
I's have to work it out but I reckon it's cost about £10k to put together, it all had to be ordered direct from Ludwig because you just can't get hold of it off the shelf. however ironically the one thing that did come off the shelf was the snare which I bought way back in 1984.

I was in Paris show, incredible strenght from Roger !! From A to Z !! I was standing at 3meters from him, during his solo on the catwalk and his drumset is magnificent : glossy block with golden parts. All the hardware was golden too : cymbal stands, tom stands, even hi-hat stand !!!

Found these two on a Dutch forum and as you can see they are made by Jerome. So all credits go to him :)
Great pictures IMHO.
