Eat my shorts, Jeff Foxworthy.  You won't get any of these.

You may be an engineer if:

The only jokes you receive are through e-mail

All your sentences begin with "what if?"

At Christmas, it goes without saying that you will be the one to find the burnt out bulb in the string.

You remember half a dozen passwords and your ten-digit CompuServe address, but you have to call your niece "kiddo".

The sales people at CompUSA can't answer any of your questions.

You can name at least six Star Trek episodes.

You have "Dilbert" comics displayed anywhere in your work area.

You have memorized the Discovery Channel programming schedule, but have seen most of the shows already.

You know the direction the water swirls when you flush.

You look forward to Christmas only to put together the kids' toys.

You own one or more white short-sleeve shirts.

The blinking 12:00 on someone's VCR draws you in like a tractor beam to fix it.
Well most of these fit my father to a T!!!  He absolutely loved putting our toys together at Xmas. I'm not sure if he know which way the toilet water swirls, but chances are he does. He's not a bad dresser though, that might go against him...

Oh, and change the VCR part ;) No engineer in their right mind would still own a VCR.

:)
Wo ist das kamerahhhhhhhhhhh!!! NJ!!!
Except for the Star Trek thing, this IS my father!!!!!  Especially the Dilbert thing...he's got one of those yearly calenders where you rip off the pages to show a new comic every day, PLUS several books of Dilbert.

And the lightbulb thing...oh yeah.  But add in some swearing with that as he tries to figure it out.  I actually think that swearing is part of the process...you won't find it if you don't swear at least once

:)  Actually, my brother still has three.  They are in his garage, all dis-assembled.
It's scary how many of those I can relate to...
If you're an engineer, then I'm Barack Obama.
If he's an engineer, then I'm Paul Rodgers.
Micrówave wrote: You own one or more white short-sleeve shirts.
It was white short-sleeve shirts, pocket protectors, horn-rimmed eyeglasses, cigarettes, and bottomless cups of black coffee that got Man to the Moon.
I saved Spike's life in 'Nam.

I'd say around 4 or 5 of those apply to Pieter, not that he is an engineer.
