I am trying to figure out why The Cosmos Rocks was released everywhere else except North America on Sept. 15th.
I would think it was to coincide with a tour. Maybe a record label thing? Or maybe something completely different.
It's kind of weird to me that this is the first time since Day at the Races that a Queen related album (or CD, cassette, 8-track, whatever) came out and I did not rush out and get it.
I like the previews I have heard so far. I'll just say I have been a huge Queen fan and have always liked Bad Company, really loved The Firm so this is a good match for my music tastes.
Don't get me wrong, I love Freddie, but it is after all just music, not a frigin religion. Freddie's not mad at you.
Thanks for letting me rant....

I see how you feel. But, the best thing to do (which is what I did) is to order it off of QOL. I got it in mid-September (the European release date) and received the exclusive tour edition because I pre-ordered it.
And yes, I live in America.

Its about time America got something last for once
You don't need to buy it to have it...
And you don't have to buy it from a US store.
Well, just don't do like me. I bought it on the Queenonline pre-sale in April (I guess) and still have not seen my copy. Strange as it is, every store in town has it, but I don't, even if I paid for it long ago. Oh, well...

I agree with the comment. And besides I think that it is because Queen+PR are European and not American that Europe saw the cd first, which is very fair!

I see USA bashing is alive and well ... but poor Canada has to wait too ...
Hollywood Records has a history of releasing things late ... or not at all.
I am waiting, because I refuse to unnecessarily waste my money on an import (postage and tariffs). I will save over 30% (almost $5), and the Hollywood CD will be enhanced as well.

When it comes to Queen, America is always last, if at all.
And on the rare occasions when America isn't last, it is trailed only by Australia :-)

Yeah...it's too bad that America has nearly no respect for Queen. As I said in another thread, Rolling Stone is one of the many causes. It's an extremely popular magazine, and almost anyone who reads it is idiotic enough to believe it! It always gives Queen bad ratings and includes terrible gossip. So unless you're a die-hard Queen fan from the beginning, chances are you will never be exposed to Queen in America. It's horrible, really...

It's hardly America Bashing ( tho I'd give em a good bashing if I could), it's more to do with the fact that almost EVERYTHING else, movies etc gets released in th USA first and we (the rest of the world ) have to wait like were lepers or something.
It's stupid to release something months earlier in one market than in the rest, pure elitism on the part of the yanks and I'm not surprised to hear some of you moaning that YOU have to wait for once.
Well, I for one am glad to have received my copy ( ordered on QOL) at 9:30 am Monday the 15th of September and I'm gald to have it (for once) before my american counter-parts.

Well, don't get too excited. I'm American, and I got my copy in September. The QOL pre-order works in other countries too, you know.

Yes and Queen were the darlings of the British media....

Well, I'm not exactly saying that. Here's a simple generalization of what I said (above): Queen are more popular in Europe than they are in America. I don't think anyone will disagree with me on that.

Very sad but true...
