Just a question to the re-mix gurus on QZ. Is there any software with which an instrumental track can be made / lead vocal removed? I was hoping to find a way of doing so for "Some Things That Glitter" and "We Believe" (also think a 'Still Burnin' instrumental would be great too). Thanks.

Adobe Audition has a vocal cut function.
Depending on how an album is mixed you can also end up with lead guitar removed as well as is the case with Cosmos Rocks.
Personally, I like it when the lead guitar is removed because I get to hear some of the backing instruments that are normally drowned out, plus it makes a good rear speaker track for the surround stereo upmixes I do.

how do you remove the lead guitar in audition then? i know how to remove the vocal but didnt know you could remove the guitar aswell

If the lead guitar is also on the centre channel, it get's removed along with the vocals.
