I don't think anyone in the band has said it.

But most people here on Queenzone believe it was written by Brian.

It sounds more Rogeresque to me.

It could also be Paul but to be honest, I don't know many gentle songs from Paul, so I don't know much about his musical style.

I thought when Roger did a press interview he picked it and mentioned it was written by Paul, if I remember the Interviewer said something (jokingly!) about the fact that Roger was missing out on royalties for not picking his own song, perhaps that can help someone track down which interview it was, I think it was a BBC interview.

SMALL was not written by anyone, it was sent down BY the cosmos to put the human race in it's place, and don't it make you feel small.
Throw it in the lake, dear

Bet it's one of Roger's!
The chord-changes instantly reminded me of 'Believe in yourself'..

Beautiful song though...definitely one of my favs from TCR.

I don't know, but I would say it is Brian's. There are some lyrics similarities with "Space", from "Another World":

"I'm gonna make a little space
Around me
A very special place
Around me
No-one can come in"

This is similar to this part of "Small":

"Everyone needs a place they can hide
Hide away find a space to be alone"

Now, after Roger said "Call Me" was written by Paul, and not by Brian, and that "The Cosmos Rocks" was his, and again not Brian's, I really can't say anything for sure any longer. :)

Cheers,

Yep, "Small" is Brians. Space, From another world says it all. In other hand Cosmos Rockin' is too much  son of "It's an Ilusion" and "Man On fire" to not be from Roger. Call me was really the surprise fro me.

sorry guys...it's off topic but in the interview for the italian show (available as torrent) before the concert in Milan they say that cosmos rockin' is a Paul' song, explaining how the title of the album was choosen
Anything too stupid to be said... is sung.

Jee, Roger had said otherwise. Do they want to confuse us? I haven't listened to this interview for the italian show, I have to catch up on that, grazie mille!

Well blow me down.

According to the priority listing of songwriters of the US edition of TCR, Roger wrote Small.

He's the last guy I would have picked.
