Does anybody know of any programmes for downloading youtube videos,i have been using vixy.net for a while now with great results,it converts the videos to avi files,but more recently i have been downloading but the audio has not been there,if anyone could help it would be much appreciated..CHEERS.........

I use http://keepvid.com/ and I am happy with it.
I never understood the desire to download things from YouTube, because the quality is too bad, but if you really want Firefox has an addon for it, also the newest Real Player can do it.
I use DVD Video Soft. It also has a lot of other tools you can download and use and it is completely free.

Look above, the guy actually got a few decent answers to help with his query. I thought this was meant to be a friendly COMMUNITY were participants can ask "anything about anything" and hopefully get a friendly and helpful answer... minus the sarcasm.
Sure he could use Google, but he may be new to computers... or he may have just thought someone from our community would help him find the answer quicker. I can see how people don't stick around here for long sometimes. Just because you guys have thousands of posts doesn't give you the right to mock other folk with your advanced knowledge on EVERYTHING.

What I was trying to point out is that far too many people these days generally aren't very self-sufficient and can't bother to find an answer to a question for themselves... which is, in other words, an observation of our general reliance on and complacency within technology instead of our own abilities. It wasn't directed at anyone in particular. Attacking the messenger instead of pondering what the message itself may be... where has that ever gotten us?

If someone's new to computers, their first line of business in learning the computer won't be downloading youtube videos.
