That's not SERBO-CROATIAN, it's CROATIAN. Serbia and Croatia and two completely different countries, different people, different culture, different mentality. Croatian and Serbian language are similar, so the one who learns one of those two languages can communicate with both nations. People used that term in the past, Serbo-Croatian language doesn't exist. For instance, Serbian people call December "Decembar" and Croatians call it "Prosinac". In fact, every month in the year sounds different, in our langauge than in their language.
