Oh yes. And Queen (or Freddie?) made a tribute song to the overhyped guy.

Yeah, it's called 'Life is Real' (Song for Lennon)

Ahh yes, another worthwhile thread ruined by Treasure Moment and the people who respond to him.

Oh well. It's to be expected by this point, really.

I made a video but I won't post a link here ...   I get annoyed when Mahler spams the place up so I won't be doing the same!

Nevertheless it's the thought that counts.  I'd love to know what music John might've made if he'd survived through the hell that was the 80's.

John returned to his musical career in 1980 willing to write new songs, to get into his stride, feeling happy and enthusiastic! Alas, the Catcher in the Rye murderer was there to make his heart stop beating. Just when new horizons were opening to John, just when he was with us again after 5 years of oblivion! He was a genius, he founded the Beatles, together with Macca he developed the musical standards, making every single new album different and amazing and making the musical world wonder again and again.
I am sure that if John had lived on he would have given us new different songs, he would have become more rockish, cause it was Paul who always diverted him to pop-style. We would have had real masterpieces, cause John was able to add some SALT and PEPPER to his songs. "I Am the Walrus", "Happiness IS a Warm Gun", "Strawberry Fields Forever", "A Day In Life"...What a loss!

Leave it to this retard to piss all over a simple thread remembering the genius that was John Lennon.

If this post isn't proof that it's time for this place to permanantly remove Treasure Moment from ever posting again, than I don't know what is.

Dude, just go the fuck away.  Pretty simple, really.  You add nothing here.  All you do is start fights.  That's not what this place is about.

What a sad life you must lead if this is all you can do.

I'd rather see 800 posts of Charles Baer.  At least those make you laugh.  You're bad enough to make the Pope curse.

im just saying what i think, thats all, i see him as way overhyped thats all.

Why, though, do you find it neccesary to soil this topic?  Your opinion is just that, and there is simply no need to add it here.

The little retard might be taking this a little hard, since he probably just found out (thru this thread) that John Lennon is indeed dead and that he once was in a band called The Beatles, a 60's mega-group that took the world by storm and changed Rock music forever.

Perhaps TM is a little mini-Beethoven.  Deaf and dumb and about to discover he's got gobbs of musical talent.  Please, TM, let us know when that happens.

you actually think bon jovi is better than Queen right? if im not mistaken... that just there takes away any credibility you had :)

i give credit where credit is due but the beatles are nothing more than an amateur band with average songs and thats a fact! Queen on the other hand is faaaaaaaaar more talented and better in every single area, people should realize this, its just a fact.

Actually, it's an opinion. Plain and simple. The only fact is everything you say is an opinion only, that's all. End of story.

Queen were better instrumentalists.

You're a musical moron for thinking that they're 'better' songwriters, though.  YEAH I know that Lennon couldn't have written Bohemian Rhapsody, so what?  Like it or lump it, it takes talent to write some of the songs like the ones the Beatles churned out en masse...  memorable, interesting, likeable, relevant and timeless songs, even if the recordings sound dated.

What have you got?  Tits Jug Faller??!  Nobody remembers the melody to that song, and no one cares about the bald maggot grunting his way through it...

You can sit there with a checklist and make sure your song has 15 more chords than anything else out there, but you'd be wasting your time.  You fail at music because your songs don't communicate very effectively.  They just sound like weak synth-driven wannabe-Malmsteen rubbish.

PS.  I wrote this while listening to "Forgotten One".  Great job, guys.  I've forgotten how it goes already.

I'm willing to make an honest bet that my band will have at LEAST two albums out before these guys can stop fucking their brothers long enough to actually attempt to write *gasp* new songs!

Ugh.  All bow down to the guy that wrote "Warrior" .....
its funny that all you can say is that over and over again and it wasnt even a ripoff haha it had a similar structure but not a ripoff, its funny that all you have is a 5 second melody that you keep bringing over and over and the fact that you cant say anything about all the other songs :D stop acting like a fool, makes you look real silly.

How about you piss off, go fuck your brother as usual, and get AIDS, you talentless son-of-a-bitch

how about you go and get fucked by the gays in the gayclub as usual? worthless scum, you are the dirt under my shoes and you dont have 1/100000 of the talent TM  has :)
How about NO, Scott.

And you're right, we don't have 1 millionth of your talent. Our talent is multifold better than yours.

Gotta love how you don't deny your sexual relationship with your brother btw, LOL

Which I need to remind people that it's a shit song indeed.

Seriously, I cringe everytime I hear the lyrics because they're just awful.
If I was John Lennon I'd be rolling in my grave.
[QUOTENAME]Brandon wrote: [/QUOTENAME]... and now the "best you can offer is Mr. Jingles? HA! He's... just pathetic.
I have to say; the lyrics are a very poor stab at the sort of artsy stuff Lennon used to write,
but the song itself is very Lennon (whether or not that's a good thing is up to Treasure Moment, I guess, since he's the only one here who knows what he's talking about).
I can't recall the songs it's lifting from exactly, but I think "I Should've Known Better" shares a couple of characteristics with "Life Is Real"?  Bah, I dunno.  Point being; musically, it's a very clever pastiché and very, very Lennon.

Lyrically, I've never liked it.
Melody wise, 'Life Is Real' is bland and easily forgettable.
I do agree that it's a poor attempt at sounding Lennonish.

Lyrics wise, the song is just plain horrendous.
I have to mention that I'm the kind of guy who chooses to not pay much attention to song lyrics, and 90% of the time song lyrics go easily ignored, and they don't matter to me that much as long as the melody is good.
...and even still I can't ignore how awful the lyrics for 'Life Is Real' are.
