I was looking at some old Elvis footage and came across this on Youtube...

Would this be were Freddie got the quote as he was a big fan of Elvis. Elvis probably said this on more than one occassion, as he like Freddie repeated a lot of the same dialogue at different gigs.

The part I'm talking about is around 1.42

(Makes sense as Freddie said it before his elvis-esque CLTCL)
Hmm, interesting. I never knew Elvis also made the same joke about 3 chords.

It's possible, but unless Brian or someone else who knew Freddie could answer that question, we'll never know for sure.

Just ask Elvis.  He'll tell you.

Because Elvis hangs around department store elevators and remote gas stations all the time, while Freddie can only be seen Tuesdays from 19:30-21:45 in trio performances with Jim Morrison and Buddy Holly at the Bermuda Triangle Club, Gilligans Island, 20345CB Commonwealth of Fantasia.

Thanks TQ.  I get so tired of having to explain this!  Hope all's well with you : )

ps:  Elvis also hangs out at the Burger King in Detroit

I think Freddie was referring to Crazy Little Thing Called Love, not sure if he was referring to Elvis. He possibly was, as Freddie knew quite a few.
