Queen Crests

Quick question...

Was Freddie Mercury responsible for each version of the Queen crest?  Or did he only draw the first one?

Each crest after the original was not drawn by Freddie but other artists.

Here's possibly a stupid question...

Did Freddie actually get to see the "official" Queen crest before he died?  I mean, when was that version of the crest first used?  And who is the artist?
