lyrics question - Son and Daughter

I think it's strange that Son and Daughter is written by Brian May. I think it would make more sense if Freddie Mercury wrote it.

But the song is great though...

Maybe a stupid thought but didn't Brian's mother originally want a daughter ? It would explain also lyrics to Tie Your Mother Down [img=/images/smiley/msn/teeth_smile.gif][/img]
