Perhaps from now on when the messages appear on the screen about not making own sound effects and switching off mobile phones during the film, "please lay down your arms" will be tacked onto the end.

Indeed.  But is it so wrong to continue to wish for reason and logic to be injected into society at large?  It's a pipe dream, I know, but I still wish for it.

I'm for it, but so long as news services are (of necessity) motivated by a drive for profit and sheer numbers of readers/viewers/listeners, nothing will change there. Perhaps the internet will change something there in the long run, but I doubt it.
