Sorry for you but I don't think that the collaboration with Rodgers will go on... let's remember QUEEN for what they are: Freddie, John, Brian and Roger.
The collaboration with Rodgers has gone too far for me... the first tour was GREAT and I've saw them In Pesaro (Italy) were they did an unforgettable show, the studio album was not that great... too far from Queen sound, it sounds more like a Rodgers solo album with the collaboration of Bri and Rog under the big name of Queen (seems like a markething operation for me in this way).
I sincerly hope that if they want to go on with this project, they will change the name because another tour will came after another studio album with new songs that will enter in the setlist replacing the "old QUEEN material". So why did they just keep calling QUEEN?
I like when they play live stuff of Free, Bad Company and 2 or 3 songs of the new album but some original QUEEN songs belong to Freddie and the original form of the band and the only way that I could imagine those songs is with the voice of Freddie.
I don't want for them to stop touring and making studio albums, but if they want to do this they've got to do in another form, with another name.
The first tour was great because it was like a tribute of the original QUEEN, but now after the studio album and the tour under the name of QUEEN for me the thing has gone too far.
The "Cosmos Rocks" is a commercial flop, let's face it!
Brian & Roger please give to the fans of the ORIGINAL QUEEN what they deserve!
Something of rare, unique like dvd of 70's live concerts, the GVH III, a boxset of demos and unpublished material.
Let's remember and respect what QUEEN is!
Sorry Raffi but Queen is whatever they want it to be. It's their name and can use it as they please whether we like it or not. The options are clear. If you like them, why bother about the name? If you don't like them, why bother about the name?

Would you stop drinking beer if they change its name? Would you not drink a new drink that you like very much because they decided to call it wine (and it's not actually wine)?

I'm still shocked that many people are only interested in make-up. You want them to keep playing but under a different name. So you like them but not with this name. Is that right?

Anyway, let's hope that they keep on playing and touring no matter what songs they decide to play.

Cheers everyone!

No.

The problem is simply that as long as they keep calling themselves Queen, the unavoidable comparisons will surface (they had to bear with it during these last months) and everyone will miss Freddie in some way or other, hence everyone's asking them something they can't deliver anymore.

If they had chosen a fresh start as May/Taylor/Rodgers they could've come with a new album to tour and leave room for some greatest hits to play live and the critics couldn't come up with something like 'this is not Queen anymore'. But they chose to play it safe and kept the name. Now they're facing the consequences of such decision.

Yeah, right!
What disturb me a lot is the comparisons... with another name they will have less people at concerts but otherwise those comparisons with the TRUE OLD QUEEN will stop and give space to the music wich is more important!
For me as long as they don't call themselves Queen it's all right. Queen and Paul Rodgers makes a huge difference. Roger and Brian can call themselves Queen but not with Paul...so I think it was a good choice to add + Paul Rodgers.. Anyway I really don't care much about the name...music is more important and they play great..and it's been about 4 years of their collaboration and people still argue about their name...strange for me:)

That´s exactly what I think. Well said.
Queen + Paul Rodgers sonds good

If Paul is in group called Queen, then he should sing Queen oldies

I like Paul singing The Show Must Go On - I can not imagine the concert without this song!

Would be great to perform Mother Love after Love Of My Life

I don't like TieYMD

and CrazyLTCL could be replaced (maybe surprisingly with Roger's Let's Get Crazy?)

I think, they must change their songs to make a something new always (even with old songs, which are not old in my mind) - it was great to play The Words Of Love for example - they must continue in this way

or establish a new group and do new songs and do not rewind Queen stuff so much

I'm afraid, the reality is:

they will do 50% of Queen reminding and 50% of Queen + Paul Rodgers new stuff - well, no one would be really satisfied, then

This is probably one of the most precise and concise explanations of all that stuff I've seen.
I don't think they care much about those critics.

I'll try to be as respectful as I can, please don't take this messege personal.

I think mostly some fans have mistaken opinions about the current state of Queen. What I humbly think is that most of the fans probably hasn't assumed Freddie's death and that he was just the lead singer, not the leader of the band. So the band does not finish with Freddie's abscense. There are 2 other members left (one retired), who has the rights to do whatever they want with it.

Why?

Simple, it's their band. Roger and Brian created the band, spent years giving their lives to it and creating the  music as much as Freddie. Now (unfortunatly) they're the only responsable for the band and they can do whatever they want with it. And the most natural thing to do if you're going to go along with the band is finding another singer.

The great thing to me is that they had the respect to add "+PR" next to the name "Queen" to clarify that Paul is not part of Queen, nor Queen's lead singer. They're two diffent things. They still have in their minds that Freddie is and will always be Queen's singer. They show it during the tour as well, leaving space for some Freddie's appeareances such as Bijou and BR vocals and Love of My Life song where Brian states that it's Freddie's song and he misses him very much.
