Hey all.

Does anyone have a link to that Roger interview answers the question of he and Brian calling themselves Queen, and says something along the lines that when you have all the surviving active members of a band, how could you not use the name?

Thanks!

what the hell is that supposed to mean? someone can get it wrong, but john deacon is surviving INactive member. that's difference between him and bri and rog, not that he is dead.

That's right and that's what he meant - Brian and himself.
Then I wonder what the hell are Paul and Ringo waiting to bring The Beatles back.
Yes, that's the jist of what Roger said.  I'm not offering judgment here in my original post.  Just asking if a clip of this interview is anywhere--it's on video, my brain is just a sieve.

It is very clear "surviving"cos they are alive I guess and "active" cos John is clearly retired from music, that leaves you Roger and Brian, very simple man.

Actually to get you all's facts correct you all need to know what a founding member of a group is.    The founding member owns the rights to the name of a group.     Usually this is the person that sticks around while all the other members change...again in theory but 9 times out of 10 this is the case.     In the case with The Beatles...John Lennon was the founding member.     This would not mean that The Beatles could not continue since it was John Lennons group.     Like Queen is Brian May's group.     Other examples would be that Led Zeppelin is Jimmy Page's group, Black Sabbath is Tony Iommi's group, Fleetwood Mac is Mick Fleetwood's group, Metallica is Lars Ulrich's group, etc.

It is?  "Smile" was perhaps, and May may well believe Queen was "his" group,  but I think the general public would beg to differ.
Roger, I am almost certain, did not say "founding" member.  So Alex's remark is sorta irrelevant to my own request.
