While listening to the instrumental version of 'A Winter's Tale', I realised that the opening vocal effect in 'You Don't Fool Me' originally came from some backing vocals near the end of 'A Winter's Tale'.

They took some Vocals from A Winters Tale and put it to You Dont Fool me ;)
Good spot. Unless I'm hearing things, it sounds very like the vocal harmony intro to Long Away, maybe slowed down a little?
Since they were limited in Freddie's vocals of that period... Yep, great spot!

Well spotted... only decent thing about that song IMO... I think YDFM is one of the poorest songs Queen ever did. How it got on Made In Heaven I don't know... maybe so Brian can show off a bit? So out of place. Sounds like a Hot Space reject. IMHO.
anyone know when abouts YDFM was recorded? Is it an earlier recording? Listening carefully it seems to have that quite raspy sound that Freddie seemed to have in his later songs.... I remember reading somewhere that the vocals could have been some years old but it was Dave Richards who mixed the majority of the song from snippets here and there without too much input from Brian, Roger or John. Any truth in that?

I personally don't think it sounds similar to anything on Hot Space

And that while YDFM was recorded in 91.
