NYTS 2 - Flac 5 and 8

What is the difference of two levels of compression between compression 5 and compression 8...



Is Flac 5 lossy codec?



Should I store my music in FLAC 8 only?



I use Adobe Audition to rip AudioCD (I click FLAC level 8)



Sometimes I have 509 kbps (Cello solo suite), sometimes it saves 890 kbps (Bach's concerto for piano and chamber orchestra)



Meantime, when I download all this beautiful queen bootlegs, it ussually has 900-1000 kbps



I asking it here, cause I can not understand all of it by reading net

I think, but not sure, that it's just a difference with compression. At lvl 8 the song is more compressed than at lvl 5, so you save space on your hard drive but it take more time to encode it.
Of course both are lossless...

So there is no difference in quality, only in size of files



And it never takes long to save - just a few seconds...
