I don't have any complete collections, not even Queen (I don't have the Queen Rock Montreal cd). Closest is Queen, Iron Maiden & Pearl jam (if you don't count all the official live bootlegs). Bands seldom maintain quality over a long period of time. Just look at Oasis or AC/DC.

Tricky. Those I'm sure I have the full catalogue of and can be more or less considered as "rock". Some individual artists are like bands, really, given their influence, so I included them.*
Queen (me)
Beatles (dad)
Rolling Stones (dad)
Silverchair (me)
Alice in Chains (dad)
Neil Young (dad)
Rush (dad)
Radiohead (me)
Sparks (me)
Muse (me)
Soundgarden (me...)
John Mayer (me)
White Stripes (me)
Allman Brothers (dad)
Flaming Lips (me...)
Ry Cooder (dad)
Dylan (dad)
David Bowie (dad)
Zappa (dad)
Led (dad)
Who (dad)
Buddy Guy (ME!!!!)
Every official release with Jeff Beck and Steve Vai - father contributed to some here too. : -)
*** Tori amos! I had forgotten about her, and that's one of my own choice, point for me! She has such an extensive catalogue that I regard her as band for the purposes of this thread. lol
All too Many of those I inherited from my father, so I have to thank him, thanks Dad!: I inherited the vinyl discs, many cds and the vinyl player, which is great! Most of Neil Young, Stones, Bowie, Rush, Dylan, Ry Cooder, Zappa and all the Led, Who, the Allman and the Beatles came from him. :-)))
I'm actually responsible for introducing in my collection very few things. The most arguable, for sure (lol): Silverchair, Radiohead, Flaming Lips, John Mayer, White Stripes, Muse, Soundgarden (!), Sparks (!!!??). I made some right moves, though: Buddy Guy and...and...damn! lol
Good topic! It helped remind me of my father and it's always fun to remember him, he was really great. I hope he'd proud of my choices, I think Queen was a good choice, he respected Queen; he didn't like it, but always said: "Oh, this Freddie is a great singer, what a voice, and I like the guitar player with the funny hair, he's good! The problem is the songs". Haha. He was trying to be polite, and so on, and I laughed out loud, I remember. "Oh, ok, ONLY the songs are a problem, the rest is good, it's ok, dad...". lol
Best Regards all!

I thought you said you only download songs on limewire and aren't afraid to admit it?
But anyway, maybe your dad just likes their attitudes :-P

Hi, Jake!
How are you? I hope you're doing fine.
I doubt my father liked their attitudes. :op I say "liked" because he passed away already. But the thread was really fun and helped me bring back some very fond memories of him. I grew up in a very orthodox Jewish family and was educated in a religious school for Jewish children . My mother as well as my other relatives are very religious and attached to tradition so I always quietly thank my father, who despite being quite religious himself liked and listened to all kinds of music, for spurring my enthusiasm for popular music, especially rock and roll, which was such a stigma in the family. My relatives, and especially my mother, would denounce, condemn or even threaten me with visions of a dreadful future every time they caught me enjoying any piece of pop music, whereas my father would always support me if he happened to be around or if I ended up telling him. :op
If it weren't for my father, I'd never have succeded in continuing my music studies and entering both the Music Institute and the College. My family thought that music would take up - or waste away... - time that I could spend studying the "hard disciplines"...
My father proved to be right in the end: there was enough time to study all the neccessary disciplines and still keep going with the music studies. And I was lucky to follow his advice despite all pressures against it!
Today I study, and work with, what I love, which is science - physics and maths - and music!!! It's really the best of all worlds for me, as tiresome as it turns out to be sometimes. :op
