Recorded in Philadelphia in 1977 does anyone know if this is the gig where they supported Queen?
I've heard Jailbreak from this CD and its superb quality if it is from the Queen double header then is there a recording of Queen hidden somewhere of equal quality?

I have the whole concert and it is indeed superb quality. This is supposed to be the concert that makes up the bulk of the official release 'Live and Dangerous'. here's where it gets weird though: Live and Dangerous is supposed to be heavily overdubbed, esp. the guitars. ([url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Live_and_Dangerous]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Live_and_Dangerous[/url]) I think this is confirmed when you listen to their other major live release, 'Live Life', which sounds very different (albeit witha different line up). But some songs (like The Cowboy Song) sound very like the Philadelphia show. The guitar is a little off at one point, and Phil's voice lets him down at the end. So my guess is that not as much of 'Live and Dangerous' is overdubbed as is commonly thought, and that the Philadelphia 'bootleg' hasn't been touched up in any way. This means there may indeed be a great quality Queen show there. And wouldn't it be great to se that released maybe (in dreamland now) as part of a Queen-Lizzy live release. Of course the year to do that was 2007, the 30th anniversary, but Queen Productions missed the boat on that one again.

All that exists from this show is a single picture taken during the encore... no recording yet, unfortunately.

i too have the whole lizzy gig. the ten-track cd is not worth the money...the full gig has been around in great quality for a long time.
the story goes that they were testing the recording equipment - so decided to use th opening night to do so....hence all the "new numbers" on this set.
cowboy song is fluffed in a couple of places...but the gig sounds better for it, as for LAD...it is heavily overdubbed - Visconti made sure of that....and the "untouched/untampered with" version will never see the light of day...
another point to note...some people may find they have copies of the first night without realising...as copies circulated with the wrong date on
finally, can't see queen and lizzy ever releasing anything together...different labels back then
