1975 -  'Now I'm Here', written by Brian May in hosptial last year for the 'Sheer Heart Attack' album, is released on January 17th. It reaches No 11. Not one of Queen's most memorable singles, but its chart position is respectable enough.

1976 -  In June '76, Queen release the first John Deacon-penned single, 'You're My Best Friend', which reaches No 7. ***This is the first single to be released on its own, instead of a taster for a forthcoming album.***

Let's not forget the single to 'Liar'

No mistake IMO.
Before ANATO, Queen used to release singles to promote their forthcoming albums (for example KeepYourselfAlive for Queen, SevenSeasOfRhye for Queen II, Killer Queen for SHAttack). With YMBF single, they released it a few months after ANATO launch. The first single for and before the album was obiously BohRhap.
Tell me if I was wrong.

I know it: "hosptial" instead of "hospital"

The thing is, Now I'm Here, from Sheer Heart Attack, was released after the album was out. So was Liar after the debut album. So wouldn't they be first to be released after an album was released?
