Is not only you, unfortunately the recording itself sound really bad.

Is it the shitty sounding recording ? Or one of the 2 great ?

Shitty one. It was recorded on an MP3 player (I did this once before with a Queen tribute band, some time before I eventually invested in my microphone and recording gear the following year, and the results weren't that good, although I made some effort to remaster it and it turned out OK.....better than this one actually, lol)
