Icon indicates a new PM, but none is there

The icon which is located right to the current user's name is currently showing that I have an unread private message, which is not the truth. It started when I deleted an unread private message, but the icon wasn't updated

Yes, it appears to be OK, thanks.
A tip for the future - could you please add some e.g. JavaScript check if the PM subject size > 0 ?

i have changed the way that the messages, etc, are displayed. So, yeah, there may be a bit of a lag between reading a pm, and the indicator turning off.
