Guitar Lessons

Dear fellow queenzoners,

I am 27 years old (will turn 28 in June) and have had absolutely no training in western music whatsoever.
 
What I'd like to know is, is it too late for me to start taking guitar lessons? What I'm trying to say is, sometimes, after a certain age, it is difficult to learn new skills- for example swimming. Do you guys feel it applies to "guitaring" to?

I want to learn to play the guitar so that I can [i][b]understand[/b][/i] the music that I'm listening to, in addition to enjoying it. 

I'll be starting work from home very soon, and then I'd have enough time at hand to pursue my other interests. However, I want to take a practical decision because guitars don't come cheap around here adn I don't want to end up gifting it to some kid who wouldn't remember where he left it two days later.

Plus, "difficult" and "impossible" don't share the same meaning. :) If you dedicate yourself and have enough patience (nobody becomes a new Brian May in a few months, right?), you can certainly become a good guitarist, no matter if you're 17, 27 or 57.[/QUOTE]

I would love to take guitar lessons as well, and I'm even older.  I took lessons for a year as a teenager but didn't keep playing.  Maybe one day I'll do it.

You know what I feel now, I was approaching the thing in a negative way. Ofcourse I can do it, and so can anyone else. Its never too late to late to start learning anything is it!!

@Erin - Go for it!!! If everything goes fine then I should be starting by June-July. I'll check with you then : )

My uncle is like 50 and only started playing the guitar around 5 years ago. You're NEVER too old for rock'n'roll....!

Remember, Freddie didn't lay down a guitar track until he was older than the age you are now.
