Do you consider that the sound of John's bass was lowest in the last tours (in the 80's, but specially in The Works and Magic Tours) ? I hear to older gigs (like Hammy 75) and the bass sound is more powerful and louder. Maybe the fact that they incorporated a fifth musician for playing synths influenced in this. What do you think??
By the way, why John used to play with picks in the eighties, while in the seventieshe used to play more with his fingers??

First of all I play Microwave for a minute
escuse = excuse
consider = think / agree with me
lowest = lower
that's not critics, just a small "lecture", I also hope I wrote it correctly :)
Anyway I agree with you, John's bass was very silent in the 80's. I don't know why, he's no Sid Vicious, but a great bass player.
I originally thought that he had some arguments with their sound engineers and his bass was turned down on the official recordings, but he's barely audible also on the audience recordings.
The same problems occurs on the studio albums, Innuendo misses bass almost completely which makes it sound like an early 90's album

Dude, I usually like your posts, but I have to say on this one, you're a total fucking ass hole.

Dude, Peter was just giving him a small English lesson. What's wrong with that?
As he already pointed out: it's not criticism. So hold your horses.

Pittrek is a very nice guy. He's always very kind. So I accept his corrections. He is not an ass hole like Microwave.
PittreK: Sid Vicious wasn't a great bass player. I hope you just have been kiding.
Returning to the discussion: what do you think about John using picks instead his fingers in the 80s?

Oh come on, I just noticed a few errors, as I wrote it wasn't meant to be some sort of "attack", just a small correction

I think Queenzone would be a much nicer place to hang around if all people gave the same constructive feedback as Pittrak did.
And if the poster doesnt agree, he can reply himself. I think it is useful and he wont make the same mistakes again.

yes i think john's bass was much quieter in the 80's. As for using the pick, I do not know why he switched certain songs from finger playing to pick playing. The most obvious example i can think of is tie your mother down which was always played with fingers in the 70's.

Haha, yeah... a LOL from the same person who once said "I posted this in the wrong forum? Hmmm... I don't care". It can't be worth much.

Did I actually say that? Wow, I guess I should be cyber flogged or something.

I read the post wrong and gave Pit shit for giving the poster an English 'lesson'. All too much people are so quick to jump on others for not using proper English, when they themselves don't do it. And by doing this, I was just as bad as those that do it. So, I was wrong also.

I've no idea if you're being sarcastic or not but you're on the money either way!
