You'd think that even Texas would've figured out by now that secession isn't a great idea. Now I would say that some five years of violence, plunder and rape by angry veterans and outlaws causing hell and destruction, preceded by almost five years of sustaining significant casualties would be a good reason not to try again...

I just read his column the story comes from. The guy is honestly calling for something like a new Confederacy seceding from the Union. Hilarious!

If it were actually possible, I'd rather see Texas secede than split into five separate states (which, oddly, it has the right to do). Imagine... five MORE red states in the Union. That's a whole lot scarier than Chucky as President... though the very idea of that is as idiotic as it sounds.

Until quite recently, Texas tended to vote blue in federal elections. If it were to break into four or five separate states, it'd probably result in 2-3 red and 2 blue states.
