Queen obviously wanted their succes to last. They play a great energetic show
as a result.
A huge thanks to the man who taped this show: Rob Schoorl:-)
Do not convert to lossy!

I'm hitting myself at this very moment because I forgot to mention and thank the man who is responsible for this recording(in the textfile)!
The taper himself: Rob Schoorl. So please everyone: do not forget to add that to the textfile and write it down when you spread it around.
Thanks Rob:-)(and sorry)

No worries, On My Way Up, thanks for spreading the wealth.
My apologies to all for having my tape deck eat the first two songs of the show many years ago. I did just download a copy of the Thin Lizzy show opening for Queen off of Dimeadozen, that certainly wasn't from my original (now destroyed) tape, so that means there may be another version of this Queen show out there as well. We can hope.

Hi, omwu!
Wow, you're on fire. I'm thoroughly enjoying the Zurich gig from the game tour. I don't know for how long it's been circulating, but it's such a well-recorded concert and such a great performance that I wondered why it doesn't have a better reputation among Queen concerts, so to speak. Poor Zurich 1980. :op (*tending to Zurich 1980's wounds*)
Now...flag time! Yeah. As I say: give me flags - real or virtual - and/or gigs from the Game Tour and make me happy. It's very easy to please me. :)))))
I have a Bulgarian flag in my torrent. First time ever. And an Irish one!!! For real! First time too.
And, on top of that, it's friday! Tonight I'm so going out wearing the Irish flag around my imagination!
Great share, of course, but great flags - you can tell a great share from the flags involved in it.
Thanks a lot, onmu, playing at the MSG must have been quite a responsibility for the guys, I guess.
Thanks a lot to Rob Schoorl too. I don't know if he's reading this now, but it'd be just awesome and I'd be really thrilled if, time allowing, he felt like "talking" a little about his most fond or enduring memories of the concert, that'd be great and invaluable, really. It'd be a joy to read it.
Thank you both. And thanks to the Irish and Bulgarian users for the beautiful flags!
The Irish flag...what if it's someone from Dublin? James Joyce's "Ulysses" is one of my all-time favorite books...it's an honor to see the flag there.
So many people from so many different places gathering in some way because of a common interest, and the common interest being MUSIC AND ART. THAT'S SOMETHING. Russians, Italians, Americans, Japanese, British, FRENCH (sorry lol), and all...
That's really wonderful. It's what gets me going in these things.
Thanks and have all of you a good and wild friday night..!

Don't kill me if this is the wrong forum, but I figured I would answer Yara's request for thoughts about this show. It was my first Queen concert as well as the first time I had ever attempted to tape a show. Me and a friend came into New York City and first went to Times Square and saw "the Song Remains the Same" which was in theatres at the time. Then on to the Garden for Thin Lizzy (who was very disappointing) and Queen. Things that stood out for me, at that point having no point of reference for Queen live so it was all brand new.
1) White Queen and Ogre Battle blew me away
2) Freddie disappearing after singing the opening to Now I'm Here and appearing on the other side of the stage
3) Freddie calling the audience darlings and the somewhat homophobic crowd not knowing how to react
4) Brian pulling out the ukelele on Bring Back Leroy Brown
5) Brian's solo, oh my friggin' god (remember this is before owning 100's of copies of his solo)
6) John hitting a triangle for one note on one song (don't remember which)
7) Freddie's wardrobe changes culminating in the kimono and red and white shorts
8) Roger smashing the Paiste gong after Bo Rhap
Ultimately still one of the best shows I have ever been to, partially because I was so young and it was all so new to me. In later years I became jaded and cynical, but that night was magic for me and one of the most "rock and roll" days I have ever experienced....and my favorite Queen show of the 6 that I have attended.
