Thank you very much SirGH! I can't wait to listen this! It's interesting to hear Freddie's changing shape in 1986: fenomenal in most of July, then bad in the first half of July and then newly great in the second half of the month. This make every concert different and very enjoyable.

You're right. Freddie is brilliant throughout june. In Stockholm and Leiden(first night) he even goes for the high notes in A kind of magic(One vision in Stockholm is one of my all time favourite live vocals by Freddie). Paris and again Leiden are great too. In mannheim he's fantastic too even though there are a few spots where you can hear he's getting weaker. Berlin is decent but not my favourite even though he sings In the lap of the gods beautifully. Zurich is the worst of the bunch and I think the first show where he sounds truly awesome again is Cologne(haven't listened to manchester yet so maybe...). I gave that one a listen last weak and both the shape of his voice and what he does with it is wonderful. I've got a soft spot for the first Wembley night too. He's struggling at places but his heart is in it all the way. All the later ones are great again. I recently watched Budapest again and I was just stunned. He's full of energy and he sings with so much ease. That footage really shows what an amzing singer he had become.
Even though his range was limited at times, he was always in tune and he often he knew to adapt the songs to the shape of his voice. Sometimes he was lazy and just sang the songs in a way that was comfortable(still enjoyable to hear) without trying to make up for his physical weakness of the day, at other times he was pure passion. In that regard is the Osaka'85 show a very important one, also the 1979 Japanese shows are wonderful in that regard. There are other shows in the 1984-1985 period where he was going through the motions: not bad but not good either. I'm glad Live Aid came along because when listening to some shows of that period I sometimes feel they needed some 'external motivation'. During the Works tour the shows where they sound most motivated are the following ones: the first few ones because they hadn't been on the road for 2 years, when they played for a very enthusiastic bunch of people(Tokyo'85), when they played for an enormous crowd like Rio or tried to conquer a new territory like Italy. Some other shows have the band sounding 'professional' more than passionate. Then Live Aid came along, they thought: "Hey, we are the best!". It gave them the energy for a tour during which they wanted to prove they were the best. The first few Magic tour shows illustrate that, with energetic performances. I truly adore those shows, and the Magic tour in general:-)
