go on i'll take the bait...
isnt Sasha Cohen really Ali G/Borat or am i missing something?

anyway, everyone under the age of 30 should see Torvill and Dean's interpretation of Bolero at the '84 Olympics and then end this discussion as its the skating equivilent of Queen at Live Aid.there's that and then theres the rest.

you've just brought back wonderful memories of when i built the '16 wheeled wonder' in 1977 from a plank of wood and 2 pairs of 1950's roller skates nailed underneath it [complete with straps].
it was so slow that when we were all going down the hill outside my old house in Orpington everyone else would get to the bottom and walk back up the hill and go down again before i even got halfway down the first time.
it was a feat of modern engineering to be marvelled at! :-]
oh btw you couldnt stand up on it,you had to 'arse it' as we called it back then :-p

I've been a fan of figure skating for over ten years, and especially I like to see ice dancing.
My fav. figure skaters are Marina Anissina and Gwendal Peizerat, two of whom are a pair for ice dancing and were gold medalists of Salt Lake Olympic games. Their performances were so cool especially for their dancing to the Spanish tunes.
Besides, I also like Belbin and Agosto pair, i.e. Tanith Belbin and Benjamin Agosto. They were silver medalists of Turin Olympic games.

I've seen the video of Torvill and Dean's ice dancing performace of Bolero....my eyes were fixed to it. So great!

I don't ice skate.  In fact, I've never put on a pair of ice skates in my life.

I haven't been following ice skating in years.  But I'll give you some of the ones I have liked - not in any particular order:

Ilya Kulik, Alexei Urmanov, Maria Butirskaya, Oksana Baiul, Paul Wylie, Gary Beacom.

I'm not much of a skater whether it be on ice or otherwise but as a boy i was entranced by Katarina Witt  and i would still say that she is the most beautiful and elegant skater i have ever seen.
