Just watching Family Guy -- not sure if it's a new episode or what.
Brian has announced that he's an atheist...and explains that the Hubble telescope has been searching the universe..and no evidence of a guy with a long beard on a cloud.
Then it cuts to a bearded guy zooming around the sky on a Ski-doo - in a Flash Gordon shirt.
The background music is Flash's theme 'Flash...AHHHH...Saviour of the Universe'.
Love it !!!
ehehehe
and another ref:

"He was not! He had a moustache which is pretty much like a wedding ring."
Fuck Family Guy. Self-congratulatory, overly referential pap.
Well I'm half kidding, but I am sick of it being compared to South Park. Family Guy is good mindless fun but South Park episodes manage (once in a while, anyway ...) to make some kind of statement.

Nooooo, don't do that! Why are you doing that??!!
Haha :)
I love Family Guy. Haven't seen a lot of South Park episodes but I have enjoyed them all. There's one that even mocks Family Guy's comedy.
Off the top of my head, Queen references in Family Guy:
- God flying through the skies dressed up as Flash Gordon with Flash's Theme in the background.
- War planes morphing into Flash Gordon's Hawk men with Vultan's Theme in the background.
- Peter Griffin sporting a moustache and claiming he's as heterosexual as Freddie Mercury because he has a moustache.
...
- I believe one episode had You're My Best Friend as background music?
Any others?
Yeh it's from the new series of Family Guy which I do like to be honest.
I can't hear Flash's Theme without thinking of "Dayman" from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
