I remember a Rolling Stone interview that year where Lennox said that she disliked tribute concerts and she showed there only because she wanted to sing with Bowie. She told the interviewer that those kind of concerts were very spinal tap to her.

Although I loved the Freddie tribute concert back in 92', there were 2 out of place acts on the night and that was Liza Minelli, and worse of all, Annie Lennox. Truthfully, I cant stand her, and dont know how a legend like David Bowie could stand beside her while she was in that awful creation dress, while she was trying to neck Bowie at the end and nearly make love to him on stage. I reckon Gary Cherone should've done "Under pressure" with Bowie!!
Has it taken you 17 years to form an opinion, or have you been evolving opposable thumbs all this time?

Bowie would eventually team with a wonderfully gifted bassist and singer - Gail Ann Dorsey - and deliver, to my taste, the best live versions of this song!

Does she feature in the "Reality Tour"? The performance on the live DVD of that tour is truly awsome. The best live version, IMO.
Hi, ParisNair!
How are you?
Yes, she's there! Isn't it a superb version? She's a wonderful singer and bassist and David Bowie has this uncanny talent for bringing great, though sometimes marginilized, musicians to the forefront. They played the song many times over the years and I think some of the live versions are simply definitive.
Great song, great musicians.
Take care and have a nice day!

Really, who cares what she wore? She did the duet with Bowie, and while I'm not a big Annie Lennox fan, I thought she was quite good. Yeah, maybe the outfit was a bit outlandish, but they, maybe it was here way of paying another little tribute to Freddie! I bet he would have loved it... and what did people want to her to do? Wear a long red-haired wig and a bikini???

Not a fan. I think it was a bit too "Me, Me, Me" on the part of Lennox.
Having said that; Cherone singing "Under Pressure"? What are you on, laudanum? Send me some thanks ...

I think your right, I like Annie Lennox very much, but what she did there was just bad, I think.... The only worse thing was Bohemian Rhapsody Elton John singing bad.... and strangely even playing bad piano (which is a bit strange for a guy who plays the piano in 100% of his songs^^) and a even worse axel rose the same for we will rock you!!!!

"shouldn't have" not "should'nt of"
"pressure" not "preassure"
And yes she should have performed it because she's the dog's bollocks.
Carry on.

I'm with Brett on this one. Annie Lennox didn't have the hips for that dress and I would have preferred to see Gary Cherone wearing it.

I would.

Whatever you like, but Freddie liked Lisa Minelli a lot. There' s nothing wrong with her taking part in the concert. I think it was pretty good idea.

To Brett5150 - have you ever done anything that equals to 1/10th of what Annie Lennox did in her life? Off course not! With this regard your attitude is shallow to say the least.

In the same way that Robert Plant was a good idea. On paper it was the right selection to make, but in terms of the actual performances delivered on the day, they were both not-so-good.

Oh, Robert Plant singing Innuendo. Now THAT was a missed opportunity. It should have been brilliant!

Yeah, but from memory it wasnt just Plant that fucked up that - nothing sounded quite right with the music, it all sounded a bit thin, and they REALLY should have got someone in to do the spanish guitar solo.
I reckon it was a case of having too much to do for them to put in the time needed to make Innuendo sound as good as the song deserved.
Plant could have at least got the lyrics and the timings right I suppose.
I do like his cwazy performance of CLTCL though, makes me chuckle, and gave me a Queenzone name! :)

I just listened to Innuendo again, and to be fair to the guys, the music isnt AS bad as I remembered, and the fact its only bootleg quality probably doesnt do it any favours in terms of it really rocking.
Although I stand by my comment about the Spanish guitar - the part where Brian just kicks in with the heavier version of that riff doesnt sound right.
I dislike the way it just fizzles out at the end aswell, almost as though they knew it sound bad! Plant really should have figured out a way of making it sound a bit more dynamic!
