My sister phoned me whilst at their gig in cardiff. Unfortunatly i couldn't make it out over the phone.
She text me later and said it was wicked, and that i would of loved it.
All i can say is that it was damn loud.
Great to now that modern bands would rather play Queen songs than their own!!!!!

While I do concur with Brian's stance of encouraging people to spread Queen's music and respecting people who try to carry it forward in whatever the way they can, I also think that he shouldn't have issued an [b]endorsment. [/b]Sometimes, silence is the best way to go: a respectful silence. Just let them be and play whatever they want.
Now, being such a musician, and confronted with a performance where, literally, I'm not joking, barely five verses must be in tune, he should [b]not [/b]have endorsed it and he should know better: [b]it does no good either for these guys, for Queen fans or music in general. [/b]If, out of politeness or other interests, one starts praising what musically doesn't deserve praise, what we'll get is more and more bad music. This does no good for people interested in music in general.
I think it'd have been gross to say: "It's bad", or "it's crap". Ok. As far as respect is concerned, I agree with his stance and open-mindedness - but he didn't have to say anything. If Mick Jagger took the trouble to speak each time someone - and some of them are really great successful musicians - covers one of his songs, he'd have no time to live the life in the fast lane, as he does. :op
I just think silence is good sometimes. Maybe silence is good now and I should stop writing, for instance. :-)
If Brian were to say something, I think he could have highlighted the fact that the guys had the idea and the courage of trying some Queen songs, which is fine and is a sign that Queen's music is still alive, but then he could have made some light criticisms: "I think they can still improve a lot on this or that, but it's great to see that Queen still inspires people..."
That'd be a good way of dealing with this.
Now, saying or, worse, implying for lack of courage of simply stating it, that the performance was good isn't the way to go.

Back to the version, I liked it, but besides [i]Bo Rhap[/i], they only chose the crappiest songs possible. I don't mean they've got to pick [i]Hangman[/i] or [i]Drowse[/i], but what about [i]Killer Queen, Don't Stop Me Now, Dear Friends, You And I[/i]...
