i've never really liked live albums. the exception for me is 'slade alive', mind you that was my very first lp so maybe i'm just nostalgic about it? the only other ones i don't mind are 'live and dangerous' by lizzy and 'strangers in the night' by ufo.

i recall when 'live killers' first came out, i bought it without listening to it first, which is what i used to do with any queen release. i never warmed to it at all, but like i said i'm not into live lps anyway. one thing that did piss me off about it was the fact that freddie was 'beeped' in his intoduction of death on two legs. that wasn't very rock n roll to me. one thing i can't stand with some live albums is when a band does a medley.  don't think there was one on this album?

i know that the record company were probably the ones who wanted the 'beeps',  however did the band have to agree with them? did the band wuss-out? maybe tthe band didn't know anything about it at the time?

at that time of queen's career i was much more into their studio work than any live stuff.

After these are on the market, a much smaller, vastly slimmed down archive box set could be released with anything not used on these, and then this could be priced far more attractively to compete the available material, and sell a much bigger number of copies.

As always though, it ain't gonna happen!!!
