michael's music is not my thing, though some of his early stuff is good.  Anyway, only a few stars shine as bright. Elvis, lennon and only a few others. A league of his own.  RIP Mr. Jackson.

When I heard the news I was thrilled - and I am still in state of shock. RIP.

Michael Jackson was a great vocalist. Kind of left me feeling a bit depressed last night.

It's been proven that he's not dead at all. Below is a picture taken of him leaving the hospital!

He was massive when I was at school, takes me back to my teens in the early eighties, fighting over whose choice of (vinal) album was going on the common room record player.  I always wanted Queen of course.  Although I was never a huge fan of his,  I could appreciate what he did and you can't deny how massive an influence he was on music and his importance.  I feel for his fans.  I and many of us on here above a certain age will remember all too well what we felt when we heard Freddie had died.  MJs fans are going through what we went through in 1991.  I wish them the best.  RIP Michael.

I posted a couple times in this thread, and now they're gone..?

I just have to post this link again, from Lisa Marie Presley... it really says it all, about how misunderstood a man Michael Jackson was:

I must say that I am quite shocked by the insults and bad jokes being given about a man who has just died. These sex abuse jokes to me are like people saying gay jokes about Freddie when he just died, have some respect! I am no huge Jackson fan but I like some of his songs and relise his importance in history. There are people and events in history which will be documented and discussed forever, be it the assasination of lincon, world war 2 Mercury at live aid or the musical genius that will forever be Michael Jackson!!!

RIP

I was not a fan of Jackson, though I will admit to a couple of guilty pleasures regarding his music.. but his legacy will be the music and isanity of his private life. Everyone will remember the music, but they will also remember the $10 million out of court settlement of the first child abuse case, and the acquittal on the second case. They will also remember the dangling of his baby outside of his hotel room in Germany. People should also remember his other contributions to music, "We Are the World", and his other humanitarian efforts. We could debate about wether or not he was a child molester, but it would be pointless to do so.. my condolences to the Jackson family.

I've been in a sense of loss since I first heard the news about him, I'm not a fan of him though.
And also his death reminds me of other great musicians who died young, which is one of the reasons I've been in such a mood perhaps...
Though I rarely listen to his music, I can't help but admire his performances. The more I watch his dancing, the more I think he's so special even now and revolutionary.
I can't help but think about both his glory days and hardships. Although I think I'll sometimes find myself feeling sad to remember his insane behaviours the reasons of which we'll hardly know, I bet his legendary performances will rivet my eyes whenever I see them and I'll remember him as one of the real geniuses shining like a diamond on stage.
Je vais bien. Estoy bien.

I'd never thought it'd happen to Michael as of this year, but after hearing he had six months left,I guess it was only a matter of time.

I always did love Smooth Criminal and Black or white, his best songs ever imo.
And who could ever forget the Beat it and thriller videos ever eh?

And man, this makes 3 celebs here in the US dropping like flies in the same year..along with Ed Mcmahon and Farah Fawcett, who's next to pass away Bill Cosby or Stan Lee? I know..no one lives forever, but it always happens so unexpectedly, and life is precious.

So here's to you MJ,the king of pop,say hi to Freddie up there for us will ya?

It's sad sad, so damn damn sad, that he died.
[/img] It's hard to recognize something that sad happening. He was the best human in the world and wanted everyone the best. No-one but him can create such incredible music and hot dance moves making all people getting wet. It's so incredible I'm crying all day long. We will never see him in the Kindergarten again.

The World has lost a great great person, We will miss you Jacko.

But reminding the past I recognize that 30th April 1945 and 5th March 1953 were harder.
Buy the reissiued Josef Stalin album - Big Boobs, which influenced Queen to release Hot Space - Out Now - with the new previously unreleased track: Gulag For Everyone
