love it,don't you think this is the kind of thing that should have been on 'cosmos rocks',certainly bri & rog shouldnt be shy of releasing stuff that sounds like this, they are queen after all!

maybe you´re right Andy,

but I´d say this Muse song sounds like, let´s say, the "Freddie" Queen side ... Brian and Roger are capable to carry on with the harmonies and stuff, but as songwriters they wouldn´t come with something in a similar style, musically speaking ..... I wish they prove I´m wrong in a near future, though !!

Yeah... it's right.... Freddie did more calm musics,,, Roger and Brian did more shock and "rock" musics... you know what it means!!

Well, I meant Freddie's "operatic" side !
when he wanted to rock, he could for sure: Ogre Battle, Princes Of the Universe, The Hitman ...

The song has definitely got some Queenish things going on.  1:17 sounds a bit like the tension building up to the "We Are The Champions" chorus.  Also, one of the lyrics was "There can be only one."  I thought that was interesting, but then again they're just words.
"Fuck today, it's tomorrow." - Freddie Mercury

It's just some parts,, very little parts,, who have a Queen stile!

A couple of operatic harmonies is not enough to make it Queen like.

The intro is more Imagine than Bohemian Rhapsody.

And there are huge swathes of Ravel's Bolero later on.

yes you´re right, and that´s exactly the reason why it reminds me of Queen: the mixture of styles in the same song. Remember Bo Rhap or Innuendo ... in this Muse song, the operatic harmonies, the Imagine intro and later on the Ravel´s Bolero parts ... it´s this mixture  of styles what naturally makes me compare this song to Queen. Of course, I don´t have hopes of changing your mind, it´s only my opinion :)

So by your argument if someone had a song that was part Russian folk dance and part Bossa Nova, it'd be Queen-like?

Muse is a great band. I think they are the best band in the world right now. They are heavily influenced by Queen and this song prove it.
