There is something I don't understand... Paul Young died in 2000, but Paul Young will appear in the forrthcoming days with the SAS Band ob 30th July in a gig.... How can he do that ? ;o)
Most probably it is another Paul Young, but I didn't knew that...

Excellent post - thanks for sharing.

I was at this concert and if I remember correctly it also featured the band Sad Cafe, who reformed for the night (Paul Young was their singer), and at the very end Mike Rutherford and Paul Carrack (who whom Paul Young had made up Mike and the Mechanics) played a few of their hits.

It was quite a long concert and was held at the Manchester Apollo. I was told it had been filmed but have yet to see any footage from the show.

Thanks for this. I like SAS Band shows - we should have more on the tracker.

I've downloaded the RT tracks and I can confirm that this is my recording, so relevant recording details are below:

It was recorded on a sony minidisc recorder (machine got nicked so can't tell you the model number) in LP mode - so the recording is in mono. I recorded in LP mode so i didn't have to change discs - You can lose up to 25 seconds of a concert just by changing the disc.
The microphone used was an Optimus Boundary mic (33-7068)

If they'd play up North more often (instead of Bisley all the time), there would be more SAS concerts recorded.

I also did Gosport in 2001, but after recording for two hours, I got jostled during Roger's set and the minidisc recorder crashed What a Bummer! I do have another recording of the Gosport gig from someone else, but unfortunately the sound isn't as good as mine :(

Blimey.
I haven't downloaded this because the tracklisting is exactly the same as mine so assume it is my recording which I didn't think had spread!
