A working-collegue of mine made a journey last week to Zanzibar and brought along a pic of Freddie's birth-house. Not very exciting for Queen-fans, but a nice way of holiday-greetings, I think. Just wanted to share with you.

Cheers!

Good one, thanks : )

Is this a hospital / nursing home or a house?

EDIT: Just noticed the "Open" sign. Would like to know more abut this building (if it indeed has a Freddie connection) if you have any more information.

Well, my working-collegue doesn't know for sure if it is the place of birth or the house, where Freddie lived as baby/little child. But she will try to find it out and will inform me later. The house is there well known as "The Freddie Mercury-house". It is located in the main street of Stonetown, which is the inner-city of Zanzibar's capital Zanzibar city. At ground level there are souvenir-shops and a bar, but she couldn't find up anything about the rooms above. Hope that helps for the present.

Damn.  I thought you said Freddie's "Bath" house.  I was severly disappointed.

Wow, that's amazing.  Was that a house or flats?
