Hey, I was wondering if any of you had the article on Freddie being #1 singer on their '50 greatest singers lists'. I've been looking around but can't find it, and they don't have that magazine where I live so it would be a great help if someone could post it.

I found the article on Paul Rodgers' on #2 if anyone is interested...http://www.paulrodgers.com/images/news_images/apr09/classicrock.jpg
So if you have it please post it, thanks :)

I watched as fear took the old men's gaze Hopes of the young in troubled graves I see no day, I heard him say So grey is the face of every mortal

Yeah. I'm pretty sure i actually saw the article at our local Border's in May! I was really surprised to see Freddie as number 1. No one else deserves it more than him, but in the US it seems that Queen are virtually ignored as being an important group. Extreme shame. At least I think it was Classic Rock Magazine. It had below the picture of Freddie, a small ad for a new book about him. The pic was black and white looking up at Freddie. It looked like it was from '76- late '77 live period. I was also shocked that this weekend i was browsing in FYE (Panama City has NO record stores *kills self*) and actually, to my extreme shock and surprise, found a used copy of Freddie's The Great Pretender 1992 album.

Damn!  You actually found The Great Pretender?  That is exceedingly rare in the States.  I don't think our friends across the pond can even imagine how tough it is to find items like that.  People just don't give the man a seperate place at record shops.  At any rate, Classic Rock Magazine is, I believe, a British magazine -- so that would explain why Freddie is in first place, as opposed to an American treasure.
