Mising/stolen mastertape

I remember a few years back, there was talk about
missing/stolen mastertapes.
Does anybody have an update of what hapen or
have they got those tape back again - or what?

I stole them......along with the Red Special.  Brian's been playing an exact replica of the Red Special :P

If you're talking about the News Of The World, nope, there are no news about them, and we didn't get a special 30th anniversary release (possibly an audio DVD) thanks to whoever stole them.

I often wondered at the time about that as they were "stolen" prior to the Made In Heaven album being released.

Brian had left a holdall containing said tapes and family photos etc. just inside the door and somebody forced the door and took the bag. Was it publicity? Who knows, maybe Greg might have an idea

Ah... I guess you mean the pic where the mastertapes of Knebworth 1986  were around. People thought they were stolen, but they were there because of the live track "Under Pressure" was used for a special compilation of Under Pressure versions. ... or not?

I think one of the tapes, was some of the backing vocals
to "Coming soon". Is that right?
