Who here considers Stone Cold Crazy to be the first thrash song?

I consider it to be the first thrash song, mainly because of the insane riffs and drumming (especially live!)  It has speed, power, and that raw feel (which only lasts until the silly vocals on the chorus XD)

Fuck yeah! Metallica basically stole the riff for Whiplash off this song and had the balls to receive a grammy for their own version! I love Metallica though.

I think Hit The Lights sounds more like Stone Cold Crazy than Whiplash, but whatever ;)

Yeah, now that i think about it, i gotta agree with Bo Rhap. It is power metal in its earliest form. But isnt Power Metal the term that got Ron McGovney kicked out of Metallica? ^_^ I think it is early thrash metal. IMO
