He's very audible during the first couple "find me somebody to love"s.  You have to listen closely; the giveaway is that he sings the same way he talks.  I'm guilty of that myself.

yes, he`s singing
dont you hear that horrible voice coming from his mic?

Of course he sang live, his mic was just lower than the rest. He just sang to make the backing vocals seem thicker at times. People seem to think he mimed but i highly doubt the rest of the band would have allowed him to mime, plus, he's very selective in what he sings, theres only a few songs that he sings regularly in. And the biggest give away is that you can hear him clearly in many songs i.e That version of somebody to love and in the lap of the gods revisited at hammersmith.
Go, Go, Go, little queenie!!

There's a live Radio Ga Ga where you can hear John extremely clear.

John is actually credited on the Rainbow VHS as a backing singer

Sometimes the soundman accidently left John's vocal mic plugged into the board.

Thank God for overdubs.

Maybe John will be queen's next singer, I'll bet he'll be more exciting than paul.

Agree!

if by more exciting, you mean a million times worse, then yes. even comparing his vocals to paul rodgers, one of the best rock singers ever, is just insane.

the few cases you can hear john sing... well, his voice is not good. it is nasal, weak... and  it makes the backing vox sound really off.
