Instead of releasing more and more greatest hits albums over the years Brian and Roger should release an album which contains the most underated Queen songs which everyone would seem to like if they hear them more. The point is to give the Non-US markets a single disc Hits album which covers their career. The Platinum Collection, which is the UK's three Greatest Hits albums, is a bit of a stretch to expect NEW fans to want to buy to see if they like Queen. Hits albums and Best Of collections for any artist or band are not directed at fans. I know that comes as a shock to some people here, who think everything Queen releases must be designed for the fan who already has everything.
The simple facts are these:
Queen wants more fans. Hits collections make money via new fans and casual fans. Queen like making money. Artistic integrity and financial gain have NOTHING to do with each other.

I buy everything with the name Queen on... but this Absolute Greatest Hits I really don't need!

I didn't need Stone Cold Classics, The A to Z of Queen (though the DVD was nice), Jewels I &II, Greatest Hits: WWRY Edition, or the Japanese re-issue of the UK Greatest Hits 1 (with a bonus track). I bought them, but no one put a gun to my head. I didn't buy the Platinum Collection, because I already owned all three UK Hits CDs, bought as they originally came out (well, Hits 1 I bought years later on CD, I was only 5 years old in 1981...I do own the original LP, though). I'll buy Absolute Greatest when it comes out and that's my choice. Such is the life of the collector.

The point is releasing the absolute greatest hits in one cd to appeal mainly to non-fans as you yourself said when you opened the thread.
I'm not going to buy it because I have the songs already - the same versions. It's not out of spite or something: it's just that this one I really don't need. Even though I...didn't like TCR, let's say, I did buy the album and the DVD live at Ukraine - fan thing. But I do see a point in releasing this one. If, for instance, it gets released here in Brazil, it'll be their cheapest and best compilation of hits, I guess.
My own erotic fantasy is the release of the concert at Hammersmith Odeon, 1979, but for reasons that Brian has already commented on - I guess it's in a poor digital format and there are no multitracks - it's never going to be released, so, there isn't much point in insisting on this one. But the Hammy 1975 may be fun, let's see.
I see the point of this release. It'd make sense here, at least, I mean.
